Buddying for 2016/17
Over the last few years Kinross High School has offered a Buddy programme to S1 pupils and a small number of S2 and S3 pupils. The programme has indeed been very successful and we are very proud of the commitment offered by our S6 students to supporting their Younger Buddies. The programme is aimed at building confidence and positive relationships. This support is offered via a number of options.
- Befriending with a focus on positive relationship building
- In class support with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy
- Paired reading
If your child takes part in this programme, it will mean being excused from part of one timetabled lesson weekly to work individually with a Big Buddy. However, if in class support was offered, the S6 student would work with the Young Buddy within the classroom.
All of these S6 pupils have been trained as Buddies and encouraged to support their partners around school.
